Description
The combination tap allows for both drilling and tapping (for through-holes) in a single operation, without the need for a tool change. The tool features a twist drill section ahead of the tapping section. It is suitable for producing through-hole threads up to a maximum depth of 2 x D. This combination tap is designed for universal use in materials of medium tensile strength: unalloyed and alloyed steels (up to 600 N/mm²), malleable cast iron, spheroidal graphite cast iron, copper, brass, aluminum, aluminum-magnesium and zinc alloys, red brass, magnesium alloys (e.g., Elektron), and die-cast zinc. It is recommended to use this tool on machines capable of changing rotational speed between the drilling and tapping phases. The feed rate must be adjusted according to the specific operation (drilling or tapping). The use of axial-compensation tapping chucks is prohibited.
